Juliana Joeri Figueroa Alonso is the progeny of vocalist and composer Joan Sebastian. The Mexican adolescent attained eminence by virtue of her progenitor’s influence. His creation of over a thousand melodies contributed significantly to the realm of music.
Juliana achieved prominence on account of her father’s accomplishments. Nevertheless, a multitude of predicaments arose subsequent to her father’s demise.
Personal life
Born on March 8, 2003, as Juliana Joeri Figueroa Alonso, the youthful Mexican luminary is now poised to divulge her narrative. She is the youngest progeny of the Mexican musical virtuoso, Joan Sebastian.
Her father had liaisons with five distinct women, siring eight children, with Juliana being the youngest. Erica Alonso, Juliana’s mother, bore the marital bond with her father, which endured for 12 years.
Siblings
However, Juliana’s status as Joan’s progeny had an adverse impact on her other siblings. Her rapport with her half-brothers was fraught. As per her account, she was excluded from the equitable distribution of assets due to her status as the daughter of another woman.
On August 27, 2006, one of her brothers succumbed to a gunshot wound during their father’s concert in Mission, Texas. He was pronounced deceased upon his hasty admission to McAllen Medical Center.
Juliana’s other brother met a fatal end on June 12, 2010, in Cuernavaca, Morelos. The tale has it that her sibling engaged in a brawl after being denied entry into a nocturnal establishment.
The incident garnered substantial attention, as he was purportedly linked to a Mexican drug cartel. Nonetheless, their father vehemently denied the allegations.
Father
Joan Sebastian, Juliana’s father, stands as the principal impetus behind her stardom. The 64-year-old Mexican vocalist and lyricist made significant contributions to the realm of music. His repertoire encompasses over a thousand compositions, leaving an indelible imprint on the melodic landscape.
He emerged triumphant in the Grammy Awards on five occasions and secured seven Latin Grammy Awards. His discography spans over 35 albums. His equestrian concert performances bestowed upon him the epithet of “El Rey del Jaripeo” (The King of Mexican Rodeo).
He penned melodies for an array of artists such as Lucero, Bronco, Vicente Fernandez, Rocio Durcal, and Pepe Aguilar. Her father’s oeuvre in the music industry propelled her to fame.
Yet, notwithstanding his eminence, Joan had been battling a grave affliction since 1999: bone cancer. Diligently adhering to treatment regimens kept his ailment dormant until 2007.
Following a subsequent wave of treatment, he managed to survive, only to experience a relapse in 2012. In 2014, he publicly announced his fourth remission from cancer. On July 13, 2015, he succumbed to the illness.
Sibling discord
Juliana’s relationship with her half-siblings was far from amicable. In an Instagram post, she unveiled the duplicity displayed by her half-brothers when it came to apportioning their late father’s fortune. She lamented the inequitable distribution of lands, automobiles, and jewels bequeathed by their father.
Whispers abound that while her stepbrothers busied themselves with dividing their father’s trucks, spectacles, and timepieces, she did not receive as much as a solitary sock. The few possessions she did receive from her father were bestowed upon her by individuals outside her immediate family.
